Baseball Hosts Saint Louis For Final A-10 Home Series

Rams’ Push for the Playoffs Continues Against Billikens on Friday

Bronx, N.Y. – (May 7, 2026) –The stretch run to the Atlantic 10 Baseball Championship is down to just six games, and the standings are tightening up and the Fordham Rams are right in the thick of things heading into this weekend's three-game series against Saint Louis.
 
Fordham sits at 13-11 in Atlantic 10 play, good for a tie for fifth with Rhode Island and George Mason, while being just a game behind Richmond (14-10) for fourth and two behind VCU (15-9) and Davidson (15-9) for second place.

UPDATE: Game 1 of the series has moved to 3:00 PM on Friday with a possibility of a second game being played right after.  That decision will be made at noon on Friday based on Saturday's forecast.  Game 3 of the series on Sunday is now at 11:00 AM.

SERIES HISTORY
  • The Fordham-Saint Louis series started in 2007, following the Billikens move into the Atlantic 10 in 2006.  The Billikens hold a 22-14 series lead after taking a 10-2 decision at last year's Atlantic 10 Championship.In the last series hosted at Houlihan Park in 2024, Fordham picked up the series win, 2-1.
FORDHAM NEWS & NOTES
  • Fordham is 8-4 in its last 12 games overall with a 7-2 mark in the Atlantic 10.
  • Joey Donnelly is batting .367 over that stretch with seven doubles, four home runs, and 12 RBI, while Tommy McAndrews is hitting .319 with eight runs scored, three doubles, three home runs, and seven RBI.
  • Donnelly and McAndrews became just the third set of Fordham teammates to hit at least 10 home runs in the same season, joining Zach Selinger and Peter DeMaria in 2023 and Mike Marchiano and Vince Lumia in 1997.
  • McAndrews has worked his way into the top 15 all-time leaders at Rose Hill in home runs (27 – T5th), doubles (10 – T10th), RBI (121 – T12th), and total bases (300 – T14th).
  • Taylor Kirk is batting .365 in his last 12 games, scoring 11 runs with seven RBI and eight stolen bases.He is just two stolen bases shy of 30 for the season, which would make him the first Ram since Jake MacKenzie (2018 & 2019) to swipe 30 bases in back-to-back seasons.
  • Beau Elson is 3-0 in his last three starts posting a 4.74 ERA ad 14 strikeouts over 19 innings, while Chase Hanawalt is 2-0 with a 2.25 ERA and 16 strikeouts over 20 innings.
  • Aric Berg became just the third Ram to notch 10 wins and 10 saves in his career, joining Bill Conkling (1990-93) and Kyle Martin (2017-19).
OPPONENT OUTLOOK
  • Saint Louis is 17-31 on the year with an 8-16 mark in the Atlantic 10.
  • The Billikens are hitting .241 as a group with a 6.48 team ERA.
  • Riley Iffrig leads the Billikens in hitting at .308 with 10 doubles, four home runs, and 31 RBI, while Chase Beattie has a team-best nine home runs to go with 27 RBI and eight doubles.
  • Ben Cherico has been at the top of the Saint Louis' rotation, recording a 3.76 ERA and 63 strikeouts in 12 starts, while Noah Andrunas has also been solid in 11 starts, posting a 4-4 record with a 4.63 ERA and 30 strikeouts.
