Atlantic 10 Release
 
BRONX – Fordham senior Nevena Kolarevic and freshman Valerija Kargina were honored by the Atlantic 10 today with Kolarevic being named the Under Armour Player of the Week and Kargina the Under Armour Rookie of the Week. It is the second weekly award this year for Kargina and the first for Kolarevic.
 
In two home matches on the week, both 4-0 Fordham wins, Kolarevic was a perfect 2-0 at first singles, defeating Davidson's Savanna Kollock, 6-2, 6-3, on Saturday and then Stony Brook's Elena Lobo-Corral, 6-4, 6-3, on Sunday. She also teamed with Julianne Nguyen to defeat Stony Brook's Elena Lobo-Corral and Mia Palladino, 6-2, at first doubles. Kolarevic and Nguyen were also leading Davidson's Savanna Kollock and Bryson Langford, 5-2, when the match was halted as Fordham clinched the doubles point.
 
Kargina was also a perfect 2-0 in singles play on the week, defeating Davidson's Ellie Hammond, 6-4, 6-1, and Stony Brook's Paisha Douglas, 6-3, 7-5, both at third singles. She partnered with Lily Chitambar to take second doubles from Davidson's Charlotte Calderwood and Ellie Hammond, and the duo was ahead of Stony Brook's Paisha Douglas and Sanjana Devineni, 5-4, when the match was halted as the Rams clinched the doubles point.
 
The Rams will close out their 2026 regular season spring schedule by hosting the University of Rhode Island on the Hawthorn/Rooney Courts on Saturday, April 18, at 12:00 p.m.
