WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Atlantic 10 released the 2026 Women's Tennis Preseason All-Conference Team today with three Rams among those honored, senior Nevena Kolarevic, junior Julianne Nguyenand freshman Valerija Kargina.
 
Kolarevic, the 2025 Atlantic 10 Women's Tennis Most Outstanding Performer and First Team All-Atlantic 10 honoree, finished last year ranked seventh among all Division I singles players in the Northeast region, the highest ever ranking for a Ram. She teamed with sophomore Julianne Nguyen to rank sixth among all double teams in the region and the pair won the 2025 ITA Northeast Regional doubles title this fall to advance to the NCAA National Championships.
 
Last year, Kolarevic compiled a 25-3 record on the year in singles, winning 13 straight matches to finish undefeated in spring competition. 
 
Nguyen, a First Team All-Atlantic 10 selections last year was named Fordham's Most Improved Player. She made a dramatic jump to the #1 doubles position, which she held all year, and rotated between #1 and #2 in the singles lineup. She won the A-10 Doubles Championships with Nevena Kolarevic, earning an ITA National Doubles Ranking of #109 and closed out season ranked sixth in the region in doubles play with Kolarevic.
 
Last fall, Kolarevic and Nguyen teamed up to rank sixth among all double teams in the region and the pair won the 2025 ITA Northeast Regional doubles title this fall to advance to the NCAA National Championships.

Kargina, a top recruit out of Riga, Latvia, was ranked as high as #250 in ITF Junior Rankings, #1150 in WTA Singles Rankings, #1207 in WTA Doubles Rankings and #1 in Latvian Junior Rankings. She brings a wealth of international playing experience to Fordham, claiming 49 wins on the ITF Junior circuit. Kargina reached the singles finals at ITF Junior tournaments at J5 Pescara and J3 Mohammedia, as well as a doubles title at the J3 Dubrovnik tournament.
 
The conference also released the preseason poll with the Rams placing second, just behind VCU, the defending conference champions. VCU received six first place votes with Fordham receiving five.
