Washington, D.C. - Sophomore standout
Quinn MacPhail of the Fordham men's swimming and diving team was named the Atlantic 10 men's Performer of the Week, the league announced on Tuesday.
MacPhail dominated at the Rutgers Preseason Invitational on Saturday with wins in the 400 individual medley in 3:56.75 and the 1,000 freestyle in 9:15.08. He also placed fifth in the 200 butterfly with a time of 1:52.24.
Saturday's time in the 400 IM is currently the fastest in the A10, while his time in the 1,000 Free ranks second in the circuit.
This marks MacPhail's first weekly honor of the season after he earned Rookie of the Week honors five times a year ago.
George Mason's Eric Koler is this week's Rookie of the Week on the men's side, while Gabbie Primiano (Richmond) and Elle Jacobsen (Davidson) along with Lainey Sheets (Duquesne) earned the weekly honors on the women's side.
As a team, the Rams return to action on Friday, October 23, when they host Richmond at the Col. Francis B. Messmore Aquatic Center.
