BRONX, N.Y. – (September 4, 2025) – Fordham got a pair of goals from
Liina Tervo, while
Riley Carroll and
Renata Mercedes also scored, as the Rams posted a 4-2 women's soccer win over Stonehill on Thursday night at Moglia Stadium.
The win improved Fordham's record to 3-1-1 overall.
THE GAME
- Fordham opened the scoring in the 19th minute, as Ava Giudice launched a long ball to Riley Carroll on the left side.Carroll cut back and ripped a shot off the right post and into the net for her first goal of the season.
- The Rams increased their lead to 2-0 on a goal from Liina Tervo, her third of the season, in the 29th minute. She got a through ball pass from Renata Mercedes, and tucked a shot under the crossbar.
- Stonehill then scored twice in 35 seconds in the 40th and 41st minute, as Hannah Anselmo scored both tallies.
- Fordham broke the tie in 48th minute, as Tervo was fouled in the box. She was awarded a penalty kick and scored to the left side.
- The Rams closed the scoring in the 71st minute goal when Mercedes headed home a cross from Julia Acosta for the 4-2 final.
GAME NOTES
- Kyla King recorded one save for the Rams, earning her second win of the season.
- Tervo now leads the Rams with four goals on the year.
- Guidice has at least one point in four of the Rams' five games.
