Box Score South Orange, N.J. – The Fordham women's tennis squad extended its winning streak to four matches on Wednesday with a 4-0 shutout of Seton Hall at the Campus Courts at Ivy Hill Park.
Fordham opened the match winning the doubles point, taking all three doubles matches.
Nevena Kolarevic and
Julianne Nguyen won at first doubles over Seton Hall's Niamh Campbell and Arabella Moen, 6-2, while
Lorraine Bergmann and
Lily Chitambar were victorious at the second position over Hili Kronzon and Rachel Benoualid, 6-1.
Paola Ueno Dalmonico and
Catalina Padilla Udaeta made it a clean sweep for the Rams with a 6-0 win over Aili Hietala and Imogen Brooker at third doubles.
The Rams then won the first three completed singles matches, all in straight sets, for the 4-0 win. Bergmann won at second singles over Tasmin Hart, 6-1, 6-0, Chitambar took third singles from Ellie Coe, 6-0, 6-2, and
Sofie Siem defeated Kronzon at the sixth spot, 6-2, 6-0.
Since only four courts were available, first and fifth singles were not started before Fordham clinched the match.
