Atlantic 10 Women's Tennis Championship Central
Bronx, N.Y. – The Fordham University women's tennis squad received the number one seed for the 2025 Atlantic 10 Championships to be held at USTA National Campus in Orlando, Fla., from April 24-27. This is the first time the Rams, who are looking for their second A-10 title over the past three years – winning the championship in 2023, have received the top seed at the Atlantic 10 Championship. Fordham will face the winner of the #8 Dayton/#9 George Washington match on Friday, April 25, at 9:00 AM.
The Fordham women closed out the regular season with a 15-4 dual match record, winning nine of their last ten matches. The Rams were also a perfect 9-0 against Atlantic 10 opponents this year.
Fordham will be led into the championship by junior
Nevena Kolarevic, who was 22-2 this year, 10-0 in dual matches at first singles, while also recording 22 wins in doubles play. Senior
Lorraine Bergmann, the lone senior on the squad, is 19-4 in singles action on the season with 15 doubles wins. Sophomore
Lily Chitambar is also enjoying a successful first season at Fordham, compiling 16 singles wins and 14 doubles victories.
Last year the Rams advanced to the semifinals of the Atlantic 10 Championship for the third time over the past four years before falling to the University of Richmond, 4-2.
