Nevena Kolarevic (Belgrade, Serbia) was named Atlantic 10 Women's Tennis Player of the Week for matches played from February 27-March 2 it was announced by the league office today.
Kolarevic was a perfect 2-0 on the week in both singles and doubles action, playing at the first positions for both. She opened the weekend with a 6-4, 6-0 win over George Mason's Cenan Liu in a 4-0 Fordham win. Kolarevic teamed with
Julianne Nguyen in doubles play against the Patriots, defeating Liu and Lauren Splett, 6-2.
In Fordham's other match on the weekend, Kolarevic defeated George Washington's Victoria Sasinka in straight sets, 6-2, 6-1, in Sunday's 4-0 Fordham win in Washington, D.C. She again partnered with Nguyen in doubles action to upend GW's Vaida Matuseviciute and Karen Verduzco, 6-1.
The Rams will travel up to Providence, R.I., to take on Brown University on Saturday, March 8, at 1:00 PM at the Pizzitola Sports Center.
