BRONX, N.Y. - Fordham University director of tennis/head women's tennis coach Michael Sowter announced the signing of Valerija Kargina (Riga, Latvia) to a letter of intent for the 2025-2026 season.

• A top recruit out of Riga, Latvia.
• Has been ranked as high as #250 in ITF Junior Rankings, #1150 in WTA Singles Rankings, #1207 in WTA Doubles Rankings and #1 in Latvian Junior Rankings.
• Brings a wealth of international playing experience, claiming 49 wins on the ITF Junior circuit.
• Reached the singles finals at ITF Junior tournaments at J5 Pescara and J3 Mohammedia, as well as a doubles title at the J3 Dubrovnik tournament.
 
The Rams return to action on Saturday, March 1, as they travel down to Fairfax, Va., to face George Mason University at 6:45 p.m.
