Washington, D.C. – (October 26, 2025) – The Fordham women's soccer team took care of business on Sunday, posting a 4-0 shutout win at George Washington to clinch a berth in the 2025 Atlantic 10 Championship.
The win improved Fordham's record to 10-6-2 overall, 5-4-1 in Atlantic 10, which will give the Rams the sixth seed at the Championship.
THE GAME
- Fordham opened the scoring in the 21st minute, when Liina Tervo intercepted a clearance pass from the George Washington goalkeeper and found Salma Simonin for her second goal of the season, scoring inside the right post.
- The Rams tacked on a second goal in the 37th minute. Tervo fought off a defender with the referee playing advantage to Riley Carroll, who scored her fourth goal of the season.
- Right out of halftime, Fordham went ahead 3-0 on Julia Acosta's 46th-minute goal, her fourth of the season, as she put back a rebound off an initial shot by Simonin.
- Simonin then capped her best day as a Ram with her second goal of the game in the 49th minute.
GAME NOTES
- Kyla King piled up four saves for the Rams over the first 83 minutes, while Sophia Mays had one save, as the duo posted the combined shutout.
- Fordham reached 10 wins for the ninth time in program history, and have back-to-back 10-win seasons for the first time since the 2015 and 2016 seasons.
- Salma Simonin is the third different Ram with a multi-goal game this season, joining Liina Tervo and Renata Mercedes.
- The Rams now have five players with at least 10 points this season for the first time in team history (Tervo, Lena Johnsen, Ava Giudice, Acosta, and Mercedes)

- The Rams will be the sixth seed at the 2025 Atlantic 10 Championship and will play at third seeded Duquesne on Saturday, November 1st at 2:30 PM in Pittsburgh.
