The Rams take on George Washington at 11:00 a.m. from the Rose Hill Gym

NEW YORK  – Off a buzzer-beating victory Sunday afternoon in Pittsburgh, Fordham University women's basketball seeks its third straight win Wednesday when they host George Washington in the annual Kids Day Out game at the Rose Hill Gym.

Turn Up and Tune In

  • The Rams take on the Revolutionaries at 11:00 a.m. on ESPN+ with Mike Watts and Edona Thaqi on the call.

  • WFUV carries the radio feed on YouTube Live with Madi Dembele and Ben Oppenheimer on the call.

Rams at a Glance

  • Fordham (8-6, 2-1) are coming off back to back wins over Richmond and Duquesne in their last two games, taking a buzzer-beating victory over the Dukes in Pittsburgh last time out.

  • The Rams continue a tough stretch to open 2025, playing four games over 10 days from Jan. 2-11, heading to Duquesne Sunday, followed by an 11:00 a.m. meeting with George Washington on Jan. 8, and a trip to Loyola Chicago on Jan. 11.

  • The Rams went the first 11 games without allowing 70 or more points to any opponent, and held seven of those teams below 60 points.

  • Fordham has only allowed more than 56 points scored twice in any of their eight wins on the year, holding LIU to a season-low 43 points on Dec. 8.

  • Fordham has crashed the offensive glass all season long, ranked third in the A-10 and 38th in the nation averaging 14.5 offensive rebounds per game, and overall rank fifth in the league at 38.2 total rebounds per game.

  • The Fordham defense has wreaked havoc on its opponents, placing third in the A-10 forcing 19.9 turnovers per game, helped in part by collecting 9.9 steals per game as well.

Leading the Herd

  • Taylor Donaldson has led the Rams in scoring in four of the last five games, and sits amongst the top-75 players in the nation in a plethora of statistical categories, including points per game (40th), steals per game (74th), three pointers per game (10th), and total three pointers (54th).

  • Pacing the offense and ranked second in the A-10 at 18.5 points per game, Donaldson enters the weekend leading the conference in three pointers made per game at 3.00 and sits fourth in the A-10 and 34th in the nation in steals per game at 2.75.

  • Irene Murua leads the team and sits fourth in the league in field goal percentage at 57.1% and tops the Rams rebounding numbers with 6.8 per contest, placing her 11th best in the conference.

  • Taya Davis sits fifth in the A-10 at 4.1 assists per game to lead the team in that category, highlighted by a season-high eight assists last week against Richmond.

  • Kaila Berry and Karissa Antoine are averaging 3.3 rebounds per game each, with eight different Rams averaging at least 3.0 rebounds per game.

  • Chae Harris has been consistent whether in the starting five or coming off the bench, making seven starts while averaging 8.0 points per game, 2.3 rebounds per game and 1.2 steals per game.

Matchup History

  • The Revs hold a 21-11 edge in the all-time series, though Fordham has claimed eight of the last 10 meetings between the two sides.

  • George Washington and the Rams two squared off in a 60-55 Fordham win at the Rose Hill Gym back on Jan. 27, 2024, with just six players who saw action in that game returning to their respective squads this season.

  • Wednesday will mark the first of two meetings between the two sides this season, with the Rams set to head to D.C. for the return trip on Feb. 4.

Grading George Washington

  • At 8-6 on the year (1-2 A-10), the Revs are coming off a 67-63 loss to Loyola Chicago last time out Sunday, after defeating La Salle back on Dec. 29. George Washington opened league play against George Mason on Dec. 3, falling 87-55.

  • Makayla Andrews lead the Revs with 12.7 points per game, just ahead of Gabby Reynolds at an even 10.0 per game.

Down to the Wire at Duquesne

  • Tied at 62 with three seconds to go, the sharpshooting Irene Murua fought her way through a pair of Duquesne defenders as time expired, lifting Fordham women's basketball to a 64-62 win in Pittsburgh Sunday afternoon.

  • Coach Mitchell advanced the ball to the front court, setting up an inbounds play in front of the Rams' bench, executed to perfection by Murua, using the full 3.0 seconds to give the Rams their second straight win in league play, and 8-6 on the year.

  • For the second game in a row, the Rams spread the scoring wealth with four players in double figures, led by Taylor Donaldson with 17 points, eight rebounds, and four steals, including the one that set up the game winning play.

  • Anastasija Veljovic sunk a pair of key three's to bring the Rams back into the game in the second half, going on to score a career-high 13 points on 5-of-7 shooting along with four rebounds.

  • Murua's game winning bucket gave her 12 points as she posted her third double-double of the campaign with 11 rebounds and a pair of steals as well, followed by 11 points from Taya Davis, who also added four rebounds, four assists, two steals and a block.

Next Stop

  • The Rams will head back out on the road after Wednesday making a trip to the Windy City for a Saturday afternoon tilt at Loyola Chicago at 2:00 p.m. EST.
