Box Score Syracuse, N.Y. – The Fordham women's tennis squad opened its spring slate with a 5-2 win over St. Bonaventure University in a match played at the Drumlins Country Club courts in Syracuse on Saturday.

Fordham opened the match dropping the doubles point as the Bonnies won two of the three matches. Fordham's Lorraine Bergmann and Catalina Padilla Udaeta defeated Tamara Bachmann and Sienna Smith at second doubles, 6-1, but the Rams dropped first and third doubles.
 
The Rams then won the match by taking five of the six singles matches, four in straight sets. Julianne Nguyen won at first singles over Cerkeline Lundberg, 6-3, 6-2, while Bergmann took second singles from Isabella Venter, 6-4, 6-4. Catalina Padilla Udaeta was victorious at third singles over Tamara Bachmann, 6-3, 7-5, and Aya Matsunaga won at sixth singles over Kelly Barnes, 6-3, 6-3. Lily Chitambar was the other Fordham singles winner, defeating Sienna Smith at the fourth spot, 7-5, 6-7(6), 10-6.
