Washington, D.C. – (September 14, 2024) – The Atlantic 10 Conference released its weekly cross country awards on Tuesday with Fordham's
Katarina Birimac (Sydney, Australia) and
Nathan Bezuneh (Alexandria, Va.) earning Women's and Men's Performer of the Week honors. It is the first career weekly A-10 honor for both runners.
At this weekend's Jasper Fall XC Invite, Birimac just missed taking the individual crown in the women's 6K race. She ran 20:25.6, just over a second behind the winner, and was unofficially the second-fastest time on the Twin Ponds on the Farm course.
Like Birimac, Bezuneh placed in the top five finishers in the men's race at the Jasper Fall XC Invite. He grabbed fifth place on the 8K course with a personal-best time of 25:11.7 for that distance.
Birimac and Bezuneh will have a few weeks off before their next meet on October 5
th in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania for the Paul Short Run, hosted by Lehigh.
