New York, N.Y. – (September 12, 2024) – Columbia's Ania Prussak had a goal and and assist on Thursday night, as the Lions topped the Fordham Rams, 2-0, at Commisso Soccer Stadium.
Columbia scored the opening goal in the 17
th minute, as Ania Prussak found Maia Tabion in the center of the box. Tabion then snuck a shot under Fordham goalkeeper
Kyla King's arm into the lower left part of the net for a 1-0 lead.
Just eight minutes later, the Lions made it, 2-0, as this time Prussak found the back of the net with assists going to Marcia Ojo and Courtney Ruedt.
Fordham had a couple of chances to break through, the best of which was a shot by
Julia Acosta in the 74
th minute that hit the crossbar.
Columbia goalkeepers Lauren Rodriguez and Samantha Mahoney combined for the clean sheet, making one save, while King was credited with three saves on the night.
The Rams now turn to Atlantic 10 action in their next game on Thursday, September 19
th, as Fordham heads to George Mason for a 7:00 PM match.
