Fairfield, Conn. – (September 1, 2024) – Fairfield's Maddy Theriaut scored twice in the first half, as the Stags posted a 5-0 win over the Fordham Rams at Lessing Field on Sunday evening.
Fairfield opened the scoring in the ninth minute, as Sam Kersey's drive was stopped by Fordham goalkeeper
Kyla King, but Maddy Theriault put the rebound home for a 1-0 lead.
Theriault made it 2-0 in the 22
nd minute, getting a cross into the box from Alex Darcy ad putting home her second goal of the contest and third of the year.
The Stags added a third goal in the first goal on a penalty kick goal from Dana Nadda.
Fairfield added two more tallies in the second half from Kaitlyn McQueeney and Kacie Benn for the 5-0 final.
In net, King made four saves for Fordham, while Kaite Wright and Lindsay Dewar each had one stop for the Stags.
Fordham will next be in action on Thursday, September 5
th, when the Rams travel to Stonehill for a 6:00 PM match. This is a time change from the original schedule.
