Fordham Athletics Registers Another Record Fundraising Year

Department raised $7.6 million to support more than 500 student-athletes

BRONX, N.Y. – The Fordham Athletic Department is celebrating another banner year on the fundraising front, as the Rams raised $7.6 million during the fiscal year that concluded on June 30.

The $7.6 million total set a new department record for the third straight year and surpassed last year's amount by more than $2.5 million.

"As always, I am in awe of the amazing support shown by our loyal alumni, parents and fans," said Athletic Director Ed Kull.  "Their continued generosity helps set Fordham apart in this ever-shifting landscape of collegiate athletics.  I'd like to extend a special thank you to Austyn Finnk and some former members of our athletic development team, who overcame numerous staffing shortages to achieve a third consecutive record-setting year."

Half of the Rams' 22 varsity programs eclipsed their fundraising totals from the prior fiscal year.  Some of the teams with the most meaningful improvements were men's soccer and men's basketball, which surpassed their previous outputs by 80 and 72 percent, respectively.  In terms of donors, women's tennis enjoyed a 114 percent increase from Fiscal Year 2023.

The Rams' unprecedented fundraising total arose from the generosity of more than 2,200 individual donors.

In addition to aiding the day-to-day operations of the athletic department, the generous contributions of Fordham supporters allow for the execution of numerous special projects and initiatives.  During the previous fiscal year, these funds aided in the renovation of Moglia Stadium at Jack Coffey Field, the replacement of playing surfaces on Bahoshy Field and Murphy Field and an upgrade to the Rose Hill Gym's film room.  In addition, the university also built a state-of-the-art broadcast control room in Lombardi Center, which will prove invaluable for Fordham-produced broadcasts on ESPN+ and other regional sports networks including SNY.
