BRONX – Fordham University's Murphy Field Complex, including the Bahoshy Softball Field, is undergoing a facelift. Crews started today removing the old playing surface in preparation of installing new FieldTurf for the entire complex.
 
Additionally, the field is being extended on the Southern Boulevard side in order to make it a regulation sized soccer pitch.
 
Murphy Field, named for Cornelius Murphy who died as a result of injuries suffered during the 1931 Fordham-Bucknell football game, is utilized by the Fordham football, men's soccer and women's soccer squads, as well as by the school's intramural and club sports programs and Fordham Prep.
