Amherst, Mass. – The Fordham women's tennis team saw its eight-match winning streak snapped on Sunday with a 4-1 loss at the University of Massachusetts.
The match opened with the Minutewomen winning the doubles point, taking both completed doubles matches. Thamonpan Jonglettra and Danielle Hack defeated Fordham's
Raffaela Alhach and
Anlin Xie at first doubles, 6-3, and Ella Faessler and Amelia Tye took second doubles from
Xiaowei Hu and
Eleni Fasoula by the same score.
UMass then won the match by taking three of the four completed singles matches. Xie picked up Fordham's point, winning at fourth singles over Mariana Campino, dropping the first set, 6-2, before coming back to win the second, 6-2, and the third, 6-4.
