BRONX, N.Y.  – For the second consecutive year, Fordham guard Kyle Rose has been named to the Atlantic 10 All-Defensive Team, it was announced this morning by the conference.
This year, Rose leads the team and sits second in the league in steals, having tallied 64 thefts in 31 appearances. As of March 11, his 2.1 steals per game rank 40th in the nation overall. Often drawing the other team's toughest assignment, Rose has helped the Rams force a league-leading 13.7 turnovers per contest.Â
With 213 steals entering the A-10 Tournament, Rose currently places sixth on the program's all-time list in that category, four shy of Dave Maxwell (1979-83) in fifth.
On the glass, Rose ranks second on the team in rebounding, pulling down 4.9 boards per contest.
In addition to his defensive prowess, Rose is also posting a career-best year on the offensive end of the floor, averaging a team-best 10.7 points per game thanks in large part to a 39.5 percent effort from beyond the arc. He has reached double figures 15 times with four 20-point outings, including a career-best 31-point showing against Saint Joseph's on March 2.
This marks Rose's second straight nod to the Atlantic 10 All-Defensive Team after earning the honor in 2023. That season, Rose helped lead the Rams to a 25-8 record, including a 12-6 A-10 mark. He paced the team and finished third in the A-10 with 1.8 steals per game
Rose, a fifth-year senior from Upper Marlboro, Md., will graduate as the Rams' all-time leader in games played, having suited up for Fordham 139 times over the past five seasons.Â
Rose and the 12th-seeded Rams will open play in the 2024 Atlantic 10 Men's Basketball Championship later this morning against Davidson at 11:30 a.m. The game will be streamed live on ESPN+.
