Hampton, Va. – (February 22, 2024) – Day two of the 2024 Atlantic 10 Swimming & Diving Championship has concluded at the Hampton Aquaplex in Hampton, Virginia, and the Fordham women sit in fourth place out of 11 teams.
George Washington remains in first place for the second straight day with 330 points, followed by Richmond (180.5), Duquesne (160), Fordham (158), Davidson (116), St. Bonaventure (110), Massachusetts (103.5), George Mason (102.5), La Salle (74.5), Rhode Island (67), and Saint Louis (58).
The night of finals began with the 500 freestyle event.
Emilie Krog was the lone Ram to qualify for the finals, taking 11
th in a season-best time of 4:56.00.
Next was the highlight of the night for the Rams, as
Ainhoa Martin won the 200 individual medley event in an NCAA "B" cut and school record time of 1:58.25. The time bested her own school record of 1:59.57, set in 2022. Additionally,
Leire Martin scored 11
th in the "B" final at 2:02.85 with
Alison Lin in 14
th at 2:04.77.
In the 50 freestyle event,
Manon Compagner and
Jessica Zebrowski qualified for the "B" final, scoring 11
th (23.08) and 14
th (23.18), respectively.
Action then moved to the diving well for the one-meter diving event, where four Rams made it to the finals.
Mya Bokerman made the championship final, placing sixth with a score of 250.15 points, while
Molly Farrell,
Cai Flowers, and
Mya Sharkey took part in the "B" final. Farrell was 12
th (225.15) with Flowers in 13
th (223.55) and Sharkey in 15
th (215.80).
The last event of the night was the 200 freestyle relay, where the team of Zebrowski, A. Martin,
Jane Brown, and Compagner scored seventh in a season-best time of 1:32.07.
Day three of the Atlantic 10 Championship will feature the 100 butterfly, 400 individual medley, 200 freestyle, 100 breaststroke, 100 backstroke, and the 400 medley relay. Preliminaries begin at 10:00 AM with the finals at 6:30 PM.
