Women’s Tennis Falls at Wichita State, 6-1

Raffaela Alhach takes first singles for the Rams

Wichita, Kan. – The Fordham women's tennis team closed out its weekend trip to the Sunflower State on Sunday with a 6-1 loss to Wichita State University at the Wichita Country Club.
 
Raffaela Alhach provided the Rams with their point, wining at first singles over Natsumi Kurahashi, dropping the first set, 6-3, before taking the second 7-6(6), and the tiebreaker, 10-5.
 
Xintong "Cindy" Zhou almost picked up a second point for Fordham, taking the first set from Wichita State's Xin Tong Wang, 6-4, but losing sets two and three by identical 6-1 scores.
 
The match opened with the Shockers winning the doubles point, taking two of the three doubles matches. The doubles win for the Rams came at the second position as Alhach and Anlin Xie defeated Jessica Anzo and Kristi Kudryavtseva, 6-4.
