BRONX, N.Y. (Dec. 7, 2024) – The Fordham men's basketball team will look to make it a perfect homestand when it welcomes the Maine Black Bears to the Rose Hill Gym on Sunday afternoon. The contest, which will be the opener of a doubleheader with the Fordham women's basketball squad, will tip-off at 12 p.m.
The game will air on YES Network and ESPN+ with Mike Watts and Jason Crafton calling the action. The contest will also be carried live on 90.7 FM WFUV with Lou Orlando and Chaz McAdams on the call.
Fordham will be providing a couple of early Christmas gifts to its faithful fans. Most notably, Ram fans can claim up to four free general admission tickets to the doubleheader by using the promo code ROSETHRILL when
buying tickets online. Attendees will also receive a limited edition "Rose Hill 100" Christmas tree ornament while supplies last.
Sunday will also mark the final day of the Rams' holiday food drive sponsored by DoorDash benefiting

Fordham (5-5) will host the Black Bears (6-4) after winning a pair of non-conference home games in the past week. Last Sunday, the Rams dispatched New Hampshire, 83-61, before taking care of FDU, 84-75, on Wednesday night. Fordham led FDU by as many as 17 with 1:30 to play before the Knights closed with a late run.
In that most recent win over FDU, two Fordham players scored 20 or more points for the second time this season.
Jackie Johnson III led the way with 21 points, five assists and five rebounds, tallying his fourth 20-point game of the season and his 10
th double-figure performance in as many tries. The senior from Wichita, Kan., leads the team and ranks fifth in the league with 18.3 points per game.
Sophomore guard
Jahmere Tripp registered the best game of his Fordham tenure on Wednesday night, setting career highs with 20 points and 10 rebounds for his first collegiate double-double. In six appearances this season, two of which have been starts, this season, Tripp is averaging 12.5 points, 3.5 rebounds, 2.7 assists and 2.2 steals per game. After going 3-for-21 from deep as a freshman last season, Tripp has made eight of his 15 attempts from deep this year, good enough for a 53.3% conversion rate.
Maine has also won two games in the past week, defeating Navy, 71-66, inside The Palestra on Sunday before dominating the University of Maine at Augusta, 103-51, on Tuesday.
Three Black Bears enter the game averaging double figures, led by White Plains native Quion Burns at 13.6 points per game. AJ Lopez is averaging 13.1 points thanks to a 41.9 percent mark from distance (1.8 3FGM per game) while Kellen Tynes is averaging 12.5 points and a team-high 5.3 assists per outing.
Fordham and Maine will meet for the sixth time in a series history that favors Fordham, 3-2. This will mark the second time the Rams have hosted the Black Bears under third-year head coach
Keith Urgo, who led Fordham to a 72-67 win in his first year at the helm in 2022-23.
Fordham is 3-1 all-time against Maine in the Bronx.
After hosting Maine, the Rams will have the week off for final exams before taking on Bryant at Mohegan Sun Arena on Saturday, Dec. 14, at 2:30 p.m. on CBS Sports Network. The game will be part of the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame Showcase, a doubleheader that also features Providence and St. Bonaventure.
