BRONX, N.Y. – On the heels of a stellar junior campaign, Fordham midfielder
Daniel D'Ippolito has been named to the United Soccer Coaches All-Southeast Region Second Team.
D'Ippolito earns this latest honor after finding a spot on the College Sports Communicators Academic All-America Third Team earlier this week.
The 2024 Atlantic 10 Midfielder of the Year, D'Ippolito scored 14 goals and dished out seven assists as a junior. A First Team All-Atlantic 10 selection, D'Ippolito anchored the Rams to an at-large berth in the NCAA Tournament, the program's second in five years and its sixth appearance all-time. Fordham finished the regular season ranked 29
th in the RPI after going 8-5
-5 against the nation's seventh toughest schedule. The Rams picked up two regular season road results against teams that went on to earn top-seven seeds in the NCAA Tournament, playing Hofstra to a scoreless draw and defeating Dayton, 4-2.
D'Ippolito scored four goals in the Rams' three postseason matches, recording his second hat trick of the season in a 3-0 win at Duquesne in the A-10 quarterfinals before scoring in the opening round of the NCAA Tournament at Cornell. He became the first Ram since John Shannon in 1982 to register two hat tricks in the same season, as D'Ippolito also found the back of the net three times in a 4-0 win over Santa Clara on Sept. 5.
