Rams welcome seven newcomers to Rose Hill

Bronx, N.Y. – Fordham head men's soccer coach Carlo Acquista announced the addition of seven new student-athletes to the squad for the 2026 season. These seven are comprised of five transfers and two freshmen.
 
"We're excited to welcome a talented group of newcomers to Fordham Soccer - players who embody our culture, competitiveness, and commitment to excellence, said Acquista. "Each of these newcomers brings a unique background and skill set, and together they strengthen the foundation of Fordham Soccer as we continue to build for the future."
 
The five transfers are grad student Jason Hsu (UC Davis), juniors Shayon Kashi (Penn State Harrisburg), sophomore Leevi Swearengen (Western Illinois) and Bruno Cellerino (Missouri State), and freshman Rayane Tchemmoun (Marshall). The two non-transfers are freshmen are Arata Mizuno from Spain and Edu Ramirez from Florida.
 
Jason HsuJason Hsu (Gr., D/MD, 6-2, 175, San Rafael, Ca/Terra Linda (UC Davis))
• Received a degree in Managerial Economics from UC Davis in 2025.
• Helped UC Davis to the 2024 Big West Conference title.
• Has competed in over 50 Division I matches with 3,300+ minutes played.
• Selected for Chinese Taipei (Taiwan) Men's National Team (two camps).
• A graduate of Terra Linda High School where he was a four-year letterwinner.
• Earned All-MCAL first team honors.
 
 
Shayon Kashi Shayon Kashi (Jr., GK, 6-1, 220, Bethesda, Md./IMG Academy (Penn State Harrisburg))
• Transfer from Penn State Harrisburg where he played for two seasons.
• 2024 United East All-Academic Team.
• Started seven matches in 2023 as a rookie.
• Recorded three wins in net, including a pair of shutouts
• Attended Georgetown Day School for first two years of high school before transferring to IMG Academy for junior and senior years.
• Helped IMG Academy to the E64 National Championship as a senior.
• IMG Academy went undefeated in league play both seasons.
 
 
Leevi SwearengenLeevi Swearengen (So., D, 6-0, 170, Murillo, ONT./St. Ignatius (Western Illinois)
• Played two seasons at Western Illinois.
• Appeared in 40 matches for the Leathernecks, staring 38, over the past two years.
• Fourth on 2025 squad in minutes played (1,542).
• As a winger at St. Ignatius High School he recorded 15 goals and five assists.
• As a fullback with Club team Thunder Bay Chill: 22 games, six goals, four assists.
• St. Ignatius Varsity Soccer Coaches Award (2022).
• Invited to Ontario Provincial Team Trials (2023).
 
 
Bruno Cellerino Bruno Cellerino (So., M, 6-0, 165, Milan, Italy/Edmondo Deamicis (Missouri State))
• Transfer from Missouri State where he was named to the Athletic Director's Honor Roll in Spring 2025.
• Named to the 2025 American Conference All-Freshman Team.
• Appeared in 16 games for the Bears in 2025, making eight starts.
• Recorded one assist.
• Played for Atalanta BC Youth sector starting in 2020, playing for the Atalanta U17, U18 and U19 teams in Campionato Primavera 1.
 
 
Rayane TchemmounRayane Tchemmoun (Fr., 6-2, 165, Montreal, Quebec / Collège Ahuntsic (Marshall))
• Transfer from Marshall University.
• Appeared in four games for the Thundering Herd in 2025.
• Helped Marshall earn an NCAA Championship bid where the Thundering Herd defeated Cleveland State in the first round.
• A composed, deep-lying playmaker with exceptional technical ability.
• Played for CF Montreal.
• Helped Québec win gold at the 2022 Canada Games Men's Soccer Tournament.
• Named to the 2022 Canada Games Men's Soccer Tournament All-Star Team.
• Brother, Yacine, played soccer at Rhode Island.
 

Edu RamirezEdu Ramirez (Fr., M, 5-8, 155, Doral, Fla./Doral Academy Prep)
• A product or Doral Academy Prep in Doral, Florida.
• Served as a Varsity Team Captain.
• Led team to a District Regional Championship.
• Doral Academy finished one game shy of state championship game in 2023.
• Led team in goals scored as a senior.
• Member of the Italian Honor Society.

 
Arata MizunoArata Mizuno (Fr., D, 5-9, 143, Madrid, Spain/Runnymede College)
• Arrives at Fordham after a successful youth career in Spain.
• Played for Rayo Alcobendas in the Division de Honor, the top youth division in Spain.
• Selected to team of the week four times during 2024/25 season.
• Led team in assists during the 2023/24 campaign.
