Swimming & Diving Hosts Boston College on Friday

Rams Welcome Eagles to Rose Hill for First Time since 2020

Bronx, N.Y. – (November 7, 2024) – Following two scrimmages and two dual meets, the Fordham swimming & diving team hits the next portion of their schedule over the next few weeks, which features a home meet on Friday against Boston College before heading to the Bucknell Invitational, November 22-24.

The Rams welcome Boston College to the Col. Francis B. Messmore Aquatic Center for the first time since January 2020.  In dual meets since 2000, the Fordham women are 5-4 against the Eagles after falling by the slimmest of margins in 2020, 150.5-149.5, while the men are 3-6 in that time frame.

It will be a unique meeting between the two Jesuit institutions, as both head coaches are former U.S. Olympian teammates in Fordham head coach Tom Wilkens and Boston College head coach Dara Torres.  Wilkens and Torres swam for the U.S. at the 2000 Sydney Games, which won 33 overall medals, accounting for a third of all U.S. medals won at the 2000 Olympics.

Fordham enters the meet with a 1-1 record for both the men and women, while the Eagles have a 1-1 record for the men and 1-2 for the women.

The meet is slated to begin at 3:00 PM in the Col. Francis B. Messmore Aquatic Center.
