Fordham Signs Henderson and Grodin to 2025 Class

Pair will suit up for the Rams in 2025-26

BRONX, N.Y. – Fordham Men's Basketball Head Coach Keith Urgo has officially announced the signing of two players, Troy Henderson and Reggie Grodin, to his 2025 recruiting class.

"Troy and Reggie are going to fit in perfectly with our culture both on and off the court," said Urgo.  "They're versatile, talented players that give all they have on every possession and play outstanding defense.  Our fans will love seeing them compete in the Rose Hill Gym."

Henderson comes to the Bronx from Chester, Va., where he plays for John Marshall High School in Richmond.  Prior to enrolling at John Marshall for his senior year, the 6-foot lead guard starred for Lancaster High School, where he was a two-time Virginia High School League Class 1 Player of the Year.  He led Lancaster to consecutive Class 1 State Championships, scoring more than 1,800 points in three years with the Red Devils, a school record.  As a junior in 2023-24, he averaged 25.9 points to go along with 5.1 rebounds, 4.7 assists and 3.1 steals per contest.

Henderson plays for Team Loaded, one of the top programs on the adidas 3SSB circuit.

Grodin, a local product from Larchmont, will arrive at Fordham after spending two years at The Newman School in Boston.  A 6-foot-5 guard, Grodin helped lead his team to an 8-6 record in NEPSAC AAA play last season, good enough for fourth in one of the nation's most highly touted prep leagues.

Grodin spent his freshman and sophomore year at Greenwich Country Day School in Connecticut, where he earned Second Team All-Fairchester Athletic Association honors in back-to-back seasons.

On the grassroots circuit, Grodin has played the last three seasons with New Heights Lightning of Nike EYBL, helping his team to a quarterfinal appearance at this past summer's Peach Jam.  During that tournament, Grodin showed a penchant for grabbing critical rebounds at the right time, pulling down nine offensive boards in just 55 minutes of play.  Grodin also has a reputation as a tenacious defender.

In the summer of 2022, Grodin helped lead the American U16 team to gold at the Maccabi Games.

The Fordham men's basketball team returns to action on Tuesday night when it welcomes Georgian Court to the Rose Hill Gym for a 7 p.m. tip-off on ESPN+.
