WASHINGTON – Coming off her standout season on Rose Hill a year ago, Fordham University women's basketball's Taylor Donaldson has been named a Preseason First-Team All Conference selection by the Atlantic 10 Conference Monday morning.
Donaldson and second-year Head Coach Bridgette Mitchell will join the rest of the league today in Washington, D.C. for Atlantic 10 Media Day at Capital One Arena, home of the NBA's Washington Wizards. In addition to Donaldson's preseason honor, the Rams were selected 9th in the Preseason Coaches' poll.
Earning Second-Team All-Conference honors to end her first season in the league last season, Donaldson also earned All-MET Second Team recognition as well, excelling on both ends of the floor. Leading the A-10 in points per game and ranking 56th amongst all Division I players, the Fordham senior paced the Rams' offense averaging 17.9 points per game, ending the year with just under 500 points scored.
The Newbury Park, Calif. native excelled particularly from beyond the arc, ranking 12th in the nation in three pointers made per game, sinking an average of 2.65 treys each time on the floor. Donaldson would also finish second in the league and 57th in the country with 2.3 steals per game, gathering a team-high 62 steals last season.
In her first season at the helm of the Fordham program, Coach Mitchell led the Rams to the most wins by a first-year Fordham women's basketball coach since the 1993-94 season. The Maroon and White open the 2024-25 campaign on Nov. 4 against Adelphi in the friendly confines of the Historic Rose Hill Gymnasium.
