Nevena Kolarevic and
Julianne Nguyen will always remember the first ever Atlantic 10 Master's Qualifier as the duo won the doubles title of the inaugural tournament held at Davidson College. Kolarevic and Nguyen now move on to compete in the ITA Conference Masters Championships to be held in Rome, Georgia, from November 7-10.
Kolarevic and Nguyen received a bye to the quarterfinal round where they defeated VCU's Mariam Ibrahim Mohamed Metwally and Amelie Jewelwics, 8-4, on Friday.
In Saturday's semifinals, the pair shutout Duquesne's Kaya Rand and Alexandra O'Brien, 8-0, to advance to today's finals where they upended Richmond's Sofia Maria Barbulescu and Elizabeth Novak in straight sets, 6-1, 6-4.
Kolarevic also competed in singles play along with teammate
Paola Ueno Dalmonico. Kolarevic defeated Dayton's Lara Greb in the Round of 16, 6-3, 6-2, before falling to VCU's Mariam Ibrahim Mohamed Metwally in the quarterfinals as Kolarevic retired in the second set due to injury.
Dalmonico defeated Saint Joseph's Victoria Tracey in the Round of 32, 6-3, 6-2, before being knocked out by Richmond's Sofia Maria Barbulescu, 6-1, 6-3, in the Round of 16.
