BRONX, N.Y. – With the women's soccer season underway and the start of the men's campaign just around the corner, Fordham Athletics and MSG Networks have announced that all 19 matches at Jack Coffey Field this fall will be telecast live on MSG Networks as well as MSG+, MSG Networks' state-of-the-art streaming service.
"After a successful launch last spring with our baseball and softball teams, we're thrilled to carry our partnership with MSG Networks into the fall with our men's and women's soccer programs," said Athletic Director Ed Kull. "It's one of our main goals as an athletic department to give our remarkable student-athletes the biggest stage possible and MSG Networks is an invaluable partner in that endeavor."
"We've developed a great partnership with Fordham Athletics and look forward to delivering Rams Men's and Women's soccer to our audience," said Armando Polanco, Vice President, Content Distribution, MSG Networks.
All 19 Fordham home matches, 11 on the women's side and eight on the men's side will be televised on MSG Networks, beginning with the women's' squad's home opener against Wagner on Aug. 20. Four days later, the Fordham men's soccer team will make its 2023 debut as part of a doubleheader on MSG Networks, as the women's squad will kick off against Stonehill at 4 p.m. before
Carlo Acquista's XI takes on Sacred Heart at 7 p.m.
The Fordham women's soccer team is entering its second season under the direction of Head Coach
Magnus Nilerud, who came to Fordham after 23 years as the head coach at his alma mater, the University of Bridgeport, where he won 295 games, made 11 NCAA Tournament appearances and won the 2018 Division II National Championship. He was a two-time Division II National Coach of the Year during his time in Bridgeport. Nilerud is set to welcome back several top producers from 2022, including Atlantic 10 All-Rookie selection
Ryann Lucas.
Acquista is set to begin his fifth season at the helm of the Fordham men's soccer team next month, a tenure that saw the Rams win the 2020-21 Atlantic 10 Championship. After equaling an NCAA record with nine draws a season ago, the Rams will look to break through in 2023 with a talented and experienced roster featuring the team's top three point producers from a season ago in
Timo Hummrich,
Nathan Simes and
Florian Deletioglu, as well as a number of talented transfers.
