KISSIMMEE, Fla. - The Fordham golf team sits in a tie for seventh place after one round at the 2023 Atlantic 10 Championship at Reunion Resort's Nicklaus Course.
The Rams were one of three teams to check in with a nine-over 297 following 18 holes of play.
Davidson sits atop the team leaderboard following a four-under 284. Davidson's Will Davis and Dayton's Ben Cors share the individual lead after firing off a pair of 68s.
Two Rams currently sit inside the top 20 of the individual standings, as both
P.J. O'Rourke and
Andreas Aivazoglou turned in an-opening round 73 to grab a share of 19th place. Both Rams reached two under at points in their round.
Last year, O'Rourke's fifth-place showing at A-10s was the best-ever finish for a Fordham golfer at the conference championship.
Sophomore
Jake Mrva holds a share of 29th place following a Friday 75, including an eagle on the par-5 sixth. He was one of only two players in the field to card an eagle in the opening round.
Nicholas Manning rounded out the Rams' scoring contingent, making the turn in even par before finishing with a four-over 76 and tying for 37th in the field.
Chris Konefal is tied for 49th in the field after carding am opening-round 79.
The Fordham five will begin its second round tomorrow morning on the 10th hole. Tee times are 10 minutes apart between 8:20 and 9 a.m.
