Orlando, Fla. – The Fordham men's tennis squad isn't quite ready for the season to end as the Rams, seeded tenth, upset seventh-seeded St. Bonaventure, 4-2, in the first round of the 2023 Atlantic 10 Championship at the USTA National Campus on Wednesday.
With the win, Fordham advances to face #2 Richmond on Thursday at 7:00 p.m.
The Rams opened play by dropping the doubles point but then won four of the five completed singles matches, all in straight sets, for the win. Freshman
Sampras Rakotondrainibe clinched the match for Fordham with a 7-6(5), 6-2, win at sixth singles.
