Orlando, Fla. – The Fordham men's tennis team wrapped up its spring trip to Florida with a 5-2 win over Southern New Hampshire University at the USTA National Campus on Thursday.
"Today's win was a real team effort with everyone getting a win in either singles or doubles," said graduate student and team captain
Quinn Fender. "It was a great way to end our spring break trip with another win, going 2-0 in Florida."
"Vince Lombardi said that individual commitment to a group effort, that is what makes a team work," said junior
Giorgio Soemarno (who was 6-2, 4-1 down before winning in a 3rd set). "The credit for today's win goes to all of our team members' commitment, both on and off the court."
Due to court usage at the USTA National Campus, singles matches were played before the doubles matches. Fordham took four of the six singles matches, winning at third through sixth singles, and then took two out of the three doubles matches, for the 5-2 victory.
