Geneva, Ohio – (February 17, 2023) – It was moving day at the 2023 Atlantic 10 Swimming & Diving Championship at the Spire Institute in Geneva, Ohio.

After day three, the Fordham men moved their way up to fourth in the team standings with 289.5 points, trailing George Washington (522), George Mason (347.5), and Massachusetts (301).

The Rams kicked off the scoring in the 400 individual medley, as Daniel Langlois placed seventh overall in 3:57.93.

Fordham then had a trio of finalists in the 100 butterfly, highlighted by Paris Raptis earning Second Team All-Atlantic 10 honors in a time of 46.67 seconds after setting the school record in the preliminaries (46.53).  Taras Zherebetskky scored 11th overall in 48.40 seconds, while Vitalis Onu tied for 15th in 49.48 seconds.

Another school record fell in the 200 freestyle event, as Alex Wilhelm just missed the podium in fourth place at 1:37.44, breaking the previous mark of 1:37.75 set by Joseph Vizza in 2018.

Raptis was back on the podium in the next event, but one step higher, as he won the 100 breaststroke event to in a time of 53.45 seconds, after setting the school record in the preliminaries with an NCAA "B" cut time of 53.24 seconds.  Noah Althoff joined Raptis in scoring sixth overall in 54.75 seconds.

The next event was the 100 backstroke, where Christian Taylor was just off the podium in fourth place, posting a school record time of 47.96 seconds, besting the previous mark of 48.72 seconds by Auston Ramsay in 2018.

The night of finals concluded with high drama in the 400 medley relay, where the Rams' team of Taylor, Althoff, Raptis, and Zherebetskyy posted a school record time of 3:13.19, which appeared to be good for second.  However, after checking the exchanges, George Washington, who finished first, was disqualified, making Fordham the event champion.

The championship will conclude on Saturday with preliminaries set for 10:00 AM with the finals at 6:00 PM.
