Sunday Preliminary Diving Results
Lewisburg, Pa. – (December 3, 2023) – Competition at the 2023 Bucknell Invitational has concluded with the Fordham swimming & diving team finishing third in the women's competition and fourth in the men's.
In the women's competition, Connecticut won the team title with 1,572.5 points, followed by Bucknell (1,281), Fordham (1,246.5), Davidson (1,137.5), Johns Hopkins (737), UMBC (560.5), and Bloomsburg (225).
For the men, Bucknell took the team title with 1,280.5 points, followed by Davidson (1,231), UMBC (1,123), Fordham (1,114), Johns Hopkins (1,094.5), and Bloomsburg (534). For the Rams, it was a new team-high point total at the Bucknell Invitational, besting the previous high of 1,023 in 2011.
Sunday's finals started off with the 1650 freestyle, were Fordham had five women and four men score in the event.
Emilie Krog was the top finisher for the Fordham women in 12
th place at 17:24.99, with
Ellen Brooks in 13
th (17:31.22),
Ellen Lange in 17
th (17:50.25),
Luisa Rosa in 22
nd (18:18.01), and
Alana Brown in 23
rd (18:24.32). On the men's side,
John Koebel was the top time at 16:20.33, which was 13
th overall, followed by
Aiden Dane in 17
th (16:37.42),
Brian Pawlowski in 21
st (17:16.61), and
Nathan Rogers in 22
nd (17:34.74).
The Rams got back to their winning ways in the 200 backstroke, as
Jane Brown won the event in a season-best time of 1:58.18.
Alison Lin scored 11
th in the event at 2:04.49 with
Tera Brilmyer in 19
th place at 2:04.61. For the men, the Rams had a trio of "B" finalists with
Brian Desmond in 10
th (1:52.59),
Bryce Wilkens in 13
th (1:54.85), and
Michael Biryukov in 14
th (1:56.84), while
Johnny Heinz scored 19
th in the "C" final (1:55.41).
Then in the 100 freestyle, it was another Fordham sweep, beginning with
Manon Compagner wining the women's event in a school record time of 49.61 seconds, breaking Tara Brunner's 2019 record of 49.74 seconds.
Zoei Howard scored 16
th in the event at 52.89 seconds with
Mia Galat in 21
st at 52.88 seconds.
Guy Gropper made it a Fordham sweep, as he took the men's event in a season-best time of 44.06 seconds. Six other Rams scored in the 100 freestyle event, which included

Another event win came in the 200 breaststroke, when
Ainhoa Martin broke her own school record in the event with a winning and NCAA "B" cut time of 2:10.97. Her previous record was 2:11.98, set last year.
Emma Shaughnessy ended up scoring fifth in the event at 2:19.63 with
Miranda Bonitatebus in 19
th (2:24.54) and
Alicia Angelone Lopez in 24
th (2:27.99). For the men,
Noah Althoff netted third place in 2:01.02, followed by
Daniel Langlois in fourth (2:01.28) and
Ryan Hong in 23
rd (2:08.48).
Next was the finals of the 200 butterfly, where
Jessica Zebrowski captured third in 2:02.51 with Brooks scoring for the second time on Sunday in eighth at 2:10.45. Bonitatebus also scored for the second time, placing 16
th (2:13.03), as did Rosa in 19
th (2:11.86).
Jaehee Park was the final scorer in the event in 24
th place at 2:16.02. For the men,
Ryan Davidoff was the top Ram in 14
th place at 1:53.53, while
Len Ray was 20
th in 1:54.32.
The last individual event was the final of the men's three-meter dive, where
Marco Petit finished eighth with a score of 194.15 points.
The Rams then capped the Invitational with wins in both 400 freestyle relay events. First, it was Zebrowski, Howard, Compagner, and A. Martin winning the women's event in a season-best time of 3:22.84, while Taylor, Wilhelm, Dutkowiak, and Gropper won the men's event in a season-best time of 2:56.86.
The Rams will now be off until January 20
th, when the team travels to La Salle.
