BRONX, N.Y. – Already the recipient of numerous accolades this fall, graduate student Timo Hummrich added yet another prestigious honor on Tuesday, garnering a spot on the College Sports Communicators Academic All-America Third Team. 

Hummrich becomes just the third player in program history to be named an Academic All-American, joining John Wolyniec (1997 & 1998) and Johannes Pieles (2019). Overall, Hummrich is the 35th Fordham student-athlete to earn this national recognition. 

Hummrich, a two-time All-Atlantic 10 pick, secured a spot on the all-league second team this fall after scoring six goals and dishing out an assist for a Fordham squad that finished 6-4-7 and earned a berth in the Atlantic 10 Championship. The United Soccer Coaches Third Team All-Region pick was a perfect 4-for-4 from the penalty spot.  In games this season that featured a Hummrich goal, Fordham went 5-0-1 with the lone tie coming on the road at Georgetown. 

During his first year with the Rams in 2022, Hummrich earned First Team All-Conference accolades after scoring six goals and assisting on three others for a team-best 15 points. He garnered second team all-region honors from United Soccer Coaches. 

Fordham is Hummrich's third collegiate stop. He had two highly productive years at Delaware, where he was the 2018 CAA Rookie of the Year. He then spent two seasons at national powerhouse SMU before coming to the Bronx. 

A graduate student in the Gabelli School on Business focusing on finance, Hummrich boasts a 3.93 GPA.
