Women’s Tennis Signs Two to Letters of Intent for 2024-25

Paola Ueno Delmonico and Catalina Padilla Udaeta to join Rams

BRONX, N.Y. - Fordham University director of tennis/head women's tennis coach Michael Sowter announced the signing of two student-athletes to letters of intent for the 2024-2025 season. Joining the Rams in the Fall of 2024 will be Catalina Padilla Udaeta (Cochabamba, Bolivia) and Paola Ueno Dalmonico (Curitiba, Brazil).

• One of the top recruits in South America.
• Trains at Country Club Cochabamba in Cochabamba, Bolivia.
• Has been ranked as high as #228 in ITF Junior Rankings, #1 in Bolivian Junior Rankings.
• Has represented Bolivia in the Billie Jean King Cup twice.
• A strong competitor on the ITF junior tour, she was a singles champion at ITF events in J4 La Paz and J5 La Paz, and doubles titles at the J100 Cochabamba, J4 Tarija and J4 Chiguayante tournaments.

• A highly experienced recruit from Curitiba, Brazil.
• Has been ranked as high as #215 in ITF Junior Rankings, #330 in ITF Women's Singles Ranking, #1003 in WTA Singles Rankings, and #1 in Brazil.
• Trains at Academia DM Tênis.
• Was a singles champion at ITF junior events in J30 Criciuma, J60 Itajaí, as well as making the quarterfinals at W15 women's events at Recife and Luque.

The Fordham women's tennis team is coming off its most successful season in recent memory. The Rams won their first Atlantic 10 title last April (Fordham's first league championship since 1990) and advanced to their first NCAA Championship match. Sowter was named the Atlantic 10 Coach of the Year and Valeriya Deminova was named the 2023 Atlantic 10 Co-Most Outstanding Performer as she became the first Fordham women's tennis performer to win the award.
