BRONX, N.Y. – College Sports Communicators (CSC), formerly known as CoSIDA, released its Academic All-District Teams on Tuesday and a trio of men's soccer Rams found themselves among those recognized, as
Florian Deletioglu,
Timo Hummrich and
Daniel D'Ippolito were honored for their performances on the pitch and in the classroom.
All three of these CSC selections were also lauded by the conference earlier this month, as Deletioglu grabbed a spot on the All-Atlantic 10 First Team while Hummrich and D'Ippolito earned places on the all-league second team.
Deletioglu received his second consecutive CSC All-District accolade after leading the team and ranking sixth in the A-10 with seven goals on the season. He scored five of his seven goals against A-10 opponents and recorded at least one point in each of the Rams' first four A-10 games, including his second career brace on Sept. 16 against St. Bonaventure. Fordham was 4-1-3 this season in games that featured at least one point from Deletioglu. Through four seasons in the Bronx, Deletioglu has scored 17 goals and registered eight assists for 42 points in 59 career appearances.
Deletioglu carries a 3.91 cumulative GPA and is majoring in finance.
Hummrich, a two-time All-Atlantic 10 pick, scored six goals for the second consecutive season, wrapping a stellar two-year tenure with the Rams after successful stints at SMU and Delaware. Four of his goals came from the penalty, where he did not miss a try in his two years with the Rams. Defensively, Hummrich helped the Rams finish fourth in the league with a 1.06 goals against average, allowing only 18 goals in 17 games.
Hummrich, a graduate student in the Gabelli School of Business studying finance, boasts a 3.93 GPA.
D'Ippolito earned his all-league recognition on the heels of a breakout sophomore year, as the Baldwin Place, N.Y., native tallied four goals and three assists for 11 points, all three of which ranked third on the team. The versatile midfielder led the Rams and ranked fifth in the league with 57 shot attempts, 19 of which were on target.
In the classroom, D'Ippolito carries a 3.71 cumulative GPA.
The Rams wrapped the campaign with a record of 6-4-7, including a 3-2-2 mark in A-10 play. Fordham earned an Atlantic 10 Championship berth for the ninth time in the last 10 seasons.
