BRONX, N.Y. – Fordham goalkeeper
Carter Abbott garnered the first weekly recognition by a Ram this season, earning Atlantic 10 Defensive Player of the Week honors on Monday evening.

The graduate student from Wauwatosa, Wis., was instrumental in the Rams undefeated week, anchoring his team to a pair of 1-1 draws against No. 18 Hofstra and Massachusetts.

On Tuesday night against the nationally ranked Pride, Abbott matched a season-high with six saves, only conceding a goal on a second-half penalty kick to help the Rams secure their first result of the season against a ranked foe.

In Amherst against the Minutemen on Saturday afternoon, Abbott recorded three saves to help the Rams earn a 1-1 draw and notch a crucial point in the A-10 standings.

Entering the week, Abbott ranks third in the A-10 in goals against average (0.89) and fifth in save percentage (.773). His goals against average is good enough for 35
th in Division I.

Abbott and the Rams will return to action on Saturday, hosting Duquesne on Senior Night. Kick-off is set for 7 p.m. on MSG and ESPN+. Fordham and the Dukes are currently locked in a three-way tie for fifth in the conference standings with 10 points apiece.
