Bronx, N.Y. – With fall camp winding down, we wrap up our breakdown of the 2022 Fordham Rams with a look at the kickers.
The Rams have four kickers on the roster, led by senior punter
John O'Friel. Last year he appeared in all eleven games as the starting punter, kicking 53 times for 1,987 yards (37.5 yards/punt). O'Friel was ranked fourth in the Patriot League in punting average and landed eleven kicks inside the opponent's 20 with 16 being fair caught. He had five punts of 50+ yards.
Starting placekicker
Also back is senior
Michael Bernard who saw action in eight games for the Rams last fall, handling kickoff duties. He kicked off 49 times for 2,804 yards (57.2 yards/kick) and recorded 20 touchbacks.
O'Friel and Bernard are joined by junior
Brandon Peskin, who appeared in five games in 2021 after transferring to Fordham from Syracuse. He was the starting placekicker for four seasons at Half Hollow Hills East on Long Island where he earned a five-star rating and was listed as the No. 52 kicker in the country by Chris Sailer Kicking.
The lone newcomer to the kicking collection is sophomore
Will Haslett, a transfer from the University of Akron. He did not see action with the Zips in 2021 but was a standout at Bishop McCort Catholic High School in Johnstown, Pennsylvania, where he earned second-team All-State accolades as a senior.
Returning to handle the long snapping duties will be senior
Tom Callahan, who saw action in all eleven games as a junior as the long snapper. He made one tackle while also forcing two fumbles on punt return coverage.
