Bronx, N.Y. – Fordham women's basketball today announces the addition of
Jada Dapaa as a graduate transfer for the 2022-23 campaign. The North Bethesda, Md. native starred at Saint Francis the past four years.
Dapaa, a 5'11 forward, was named the 2022 Northeast Conference Defensive Player of the Year, Most Improved Player, and First Team All-Conference in March. Dapaa led the NEC and was third nationally with 12.6 rebounds per game, tallying more defensive rebounds than anyone in the league had total rebounds, and set a single-season program record with 378 boards this past year. She finished her four-year stay in Loretto, Pa. with 741 career rebounds, ninth in school history. Dapaa also led her team with 1.2 steals and 0.4 blocks per contest.
As a junior, Dapaa averaged 7.5 points, 8.6 rebounds, which was second in the NEC, and 1.1 assists; those figures jumped to 9.4, 12.6, and 2.6, respectively. She also tallied 12 double-doubles, including eight to finish the season, and had three games of 20 or more rebounds, led by a career-best 23 in January. Dapaa appeared in 88 games, making 36 starts, averaging 23.7 minutes per game, and averaged 6.4 points, 8.6 rebounds (31.3% of which were on the offensive glass), and 1.5 assists, while shooting 46.9% overall from the field and 70.4% from the free-throw line.
Dapaa played at Holy Child high school and averaged a double-double her final two years. She joins the Rams' four-player
Class of 2026 for the new season.
