"Lombardi was much more than the legendary coach who led the Green Bay Packers to victories in the first two Super Bowls, demonstrating leadership qualities which prompted the NFL to name the championship trophy in his honor," according to Ed Kull, Director of Athletics at Fordham University.
 
"Lombardi was a man who treasured his Roman Catholic faith, his family, and football, starting with his early years as a player at Fordham University, followed by twenty years as a high school coach before returning to Fordham University as an assistant coach."  
 
Fordham University is celebrating the life of one of its most iconic alumni with very special NFTs. Purchasers can own a connection to history, helping Fordham University in the process. 
 
From Lombardi's Hall of Fame Induction Plaque to the digitization of his original Fordham Varsity sweater, the collection 1937 NFTs symbolize Lombardi's graduation year from Fordham University.  
As a Brooklyn native who was the oldest of five children born to Italian immigrants, Vince Lombardi personifies the American Dream. Reverence, discipline, perseverance, and teamwork were cornerstones of his young life at Fordham, where the undersized right guard became one of the Seven Blocks of Granite as a player. After coaching at Fordham, Lombardi coached with the United States Military Academy and New York Giants before becoming the head coach at Green Bay, winning 74 percent of regular season games and 90 percent of postseason games.
