Student-Athletes do some heavy lifting for Class of 2025

Bronx, N.Y. - Though some have been back on campus for almost a month for preseason practices, various Fordham University student-athletes spent part of their Sunday morning outside the various dorms on campus, helping the incoming freshmen and their families unload their vehicles.  In what has become an annual event for the Rams, the student-athletes came to the aid of the New Student Orientation staff and the Office of Residential Life by lending a hand to make Opening Day run smoothly.

Members of the football, men's basketball, men's and women's track/cross country, water polo, and cheerleading squads assisted with Opening Day today with help from the men's rugby squad and the dance team. The cheerleaders greeted the new students as they pulled onto campus and the other student-athletes hauled boxes and other heavy goods, including refrigerators, televisions and cases of water, up flights of stairs, gleaning admiration from parents and students who thought they would have to do the heavy lifting themselves.
