Golf Wraps Up Play at the 2021 Atlantic 10 Championship

Kissimmee, Fla. – The Fordham golf team finished play at the 2021 Atlantic 10 Championship, maintaining its ninth place finish but for a second straight day improving upon its previous day's score by five strokes. The Rams' four best scores combined for a 14-over 302, finishing the three days with a total of 921 strokes. Davidson kept its place atop the leaderboard to take home the title, while Dayton's Henry May retook the individual lead on day three and won by one stroke over Davidson's Alex Ross.
 
Grad student Tomas Nieves kept his momentum going with a 2-over 74, offsetting a pair of bogeys with a pair of birdies but carding a double on the par-3 5^th hole after opening with four straight pars. He led the squad with a T35 finish and a three-day score of 230. Sophomore Andreas Aivazoglou shot a team-low 73 with a team-high five birdies, finishing the weekend in solo 45^th.
 
John Kryscio carded a 77 for a third straight day to finish solo 39^th with a three-day score of 231. Kryscio rebounded from a tough front nine by shooting 2-under on the back nine, including three birdies over the final four holes. Nicholas Manning was one spot behind Kryscio with a day three 78 for a three-day total of 232 and P.J. O'Rourke shot a 79 on Sunday to finish in 43^rd.
 
For the weekend, Kryscio and Nieves each tied for the team lead with nine birdies, tied for seventh-best in the field. Kryscio's success came on the par-5's, shooting 6-under over three rounds, 2-under each day, for a share of third-best on those holes during the tournament.
