Kissimmee, Fla. – The Fordham golf team wrapped up day one of the 2021 Atlantic 10 Championship in ninth place out of 10 schools, totaling 312 strokes. Dayton is currently atop the leaderboard with a combined 3-under 285, while the Flyers' Henry May leads all golfers by at least three strokes after a 5-under 67.
Nicholas Manning led the way for Fordham with a 4-over 76 to finish the opening round in a tie for 23
rd. The sophomore made two birdies on the first three holes of the back nine and was even par on par-4 holes today, tied for fourth-best. Classmate
John Kryscio was one stroke behind at 5-over and tallied a trio of birdies to sit T31, going 2-under on the four par-5's, while
P.J. O'Rourke is T36 after day one with a 6-over 78, also notching a pair of birdies, including the par-5 18
th. Also birdieing the final hole was
Andreas Aivazoglou, finished the day with an 84.
Tomas Nieves rounded out the quintet, tying Kryscio for the team-lead of three birdies, and is T47 with an 81.
Fordham and La Salle will kick day two off at 10:30 a.m. at the first hole of the Nicklaus Course at Reunion Resort.
