Bronx, N.Y. – It's been a while since the Fordham women's tennis squad has been able to play a match on the Hawthorn/Rooney Courts but the Rams made a victorious return to their home court with a 5-2 win over Seton Hall on Saturday.
Fordham opened the match by winning the doubles point. After the Rams won third doubles by default,
Nicole Li and
Eleni Fasoula teamed to take second doubles from Hiba El Khalifi and Oliwia Kempinski, 7-5, to win the point for Fordham.
The Rams won fourth, fifth, and sixth singles by default with the other point coming from
Arina Taluyenko who defeated Arina Gumerova in straight sets, 7-5 and 6-2, at first singles.
The Rams were slated to play a second match on Saturday but due to injury and illness, La Salle was unable to compete.
The Rams return to action on Saturday, April 3, as they host Quinnipiac University on the Hawthorn/Rooney Courts at 1:00 p.m.
