Philadelphia, Pa. – (March 28, 2021) – Following the excitement of their overtime win on Thursday, the Fordham Rams continued their winning ways on Sunday afternoon, posting a 1-0 win over the La Salle Explorers in women's soccer action in Philadelphia.
With the win, Fordham improved to 2-2-1 on the year, 2-2 in the Atlantic 10, while La Salle fell to 5-2-0 overall, 2-2 in the league.
The Fordham defense had an early highlight in the 17
th minute to keep the game scoreless. Off a La Salle corner, Mary Kate Vinkler took a shot toward the right side of the net but was cleared away by
Olivia Redden for a defender save.

Maria O'Sullivan then put her stamp on the first half with a tremendous stop in the 25
th minute. Emily Banashefski took a free kick from outside the box on the left side and lined a shot to the right post. O'Sullivan made a diving punch save to the post to deny the Explorer.
The Rams got all the offense they would need in the 35
th minute, when La Salle tried to clear the ball from the defensive end. Fordham's
Marissa Krenn got to the loose ball and got it forward to
Kendall Dandridge at the top of the box. She then delivered a perfect shot from the right side that hooked its way inside the top left corner of the net for her first career goal.
Fordham's defense held strong for the rest of the match, limiting La Salle to four shots and two corner kicks for the 1-0 victory. O'Sullivan ended the match with two saves, posting her first full shutout of her career.
The Rams are next in action on Wednesday, March 31
st, when they travel to Rhode Island for a 4:00 PM match.
