Bronx, N.Y. – Fordham director of athletics
Ed Kull announced today that head men's soccer coach
Carlo Acquista has signed a multi-year contract extension through the 2025 season.
"We're extremely pleased with the job that Coach Acquista has done in his time at Fordham," Kull said. "He continues to build a strong team with achievements on and off the field. We look forward to future success with him leading our Men's Soccer program and our student-athletes."
Acquista, who is in his third year as the Rams head coach, led Fordham to the 2020-2021 Atlantic 10 Championship last spring as the Rams fought through the adversity of a pandemic to capture the program's fourth A-10 title. After an unbeaten regular season, Fordham knocked off Saint Louis and George Washington in the Atlantic 10 Championship to win the title, as
Matt Sloan was named the Most Outstanding Player of the Championship after scoring in each match, while six other players were named to the All-Championship Team.
Following the spring season, Acquista was selected by his Fordham peers as the 2020-2021 Iron Major Award winner as Fordham Coach of the Year.
Acquista is leading the Rams into the 2021 Atlantic 10 Championship at Saint Louis University as Fordham takes on the Billikens in the first semifinal game on Friday at 1:00 PM.
