Bronx, N.Y. – (October 5, 2021) – It's a big week of action for the Fordham men's soccer team with two Atlantic 10 contests on the schedule, as the team hits the halfway point of league play. The Rams host Davidson on Wednesday night, while taking on George Mason on Saturday night.
Fordham (3-7-1, 1-2 A10) looks to get back on track, as the squad begins a three-match homestand on Wednesday. After winning their league opener, Fordham has dropped two league matches, most recently to #15 Saint Louis on Saturday. Fordham goalkeeper
Nick Buchholz played well, totaling a career-best nine saves in the game, after having five saves in a win over Seton Hall last Tuesday.
Davidson (6-3-1, 1-1-1 A10) also has a pair of conference contests this week, as the Wildcats will play La Salle after their game with Fordham. Davidson is unbeaten in its last three contests, earning ins over Rhode Island and Radford, while playing to a 1-1 draw against Duquesne. Vincent Bennage is Davidson's top scorer in 2021 with six goals, while Giacomo Piccardo has been the mainstay in goal, recording a 1.22 GAA in eight games.
George Mason (2-7-1, 0-2 A10) will also have two league matches this week, playing St. Bonaventure on Wednesday before taking on Fordham on Saturday. The Patriots snapped a seven-match losing streak on Saturday with a 3-2 win over Radford. Louis Lehr is the top scorer for George Mason with three goals, with Jackson Lee as the primary netminder with a 1.83 GAA this year.

SERIES HISTORY: For Wednesday, this is just the fourth all-time meeting between the Rams and Wildcats since Davidson joined the Atlantic 10. Fordham is 3-0 against Davidson with the last meeting being a 2-0 win at Davidson in 2018, where Janos Loebe and
Sameer Fathazada netted goals for the Rams.
On Saturday, it will be the sixth meeting for the Rams and Patriots with George Mason holding a 3-1-1 record. Fordham though won the last meeting in 2019 by a 3-1 score behind two goals by Filipo Ricupati and one from Johannes Pieles.

LAST TIME OUT: Despite a career-high nine saves from
Nick Buchholz, the Fordham men's soccer team dropped a 2-0 decision to the 15
th-ranked Saint Louis Billikens at Hermann Stadium on Saturday night.
The Billikens scored a pair of first half goals for all the offense in the match. In the 22
nd minute, Simon Beecher played a give and go with John Klein with Beecher getting around a Fordham defender and goalkeeper
Nick Buchholz to tap-in his sixth goa of the season.

Saint Louis made it 2-0 in the 31
st minute on a long free kick to the far post by Klein. The ball found the head of Mujeeb Murana on the corner of the six-yard box for the goal into the lower right corner. It was his second marker of the year.
The two goals were all the Billikens could muster, as Buchholz made a career-high nine saves in the Fordham goal, while
Luke McNamara was credited with a defender save, as he cleared a rolling ball off the goal line to prevent another tally.
TO THE MAX: As Fordham hits the middle of Atlantic 10 play, one Ram,
Max Rogers, has stepped up his play over the last five contests, totaling three goals and three assists in the span. He netted goals in three straight games and a point in four straight contests, which was highlighted by his performance against Seton Hall, netting two assists and the game-winning goal in overtime.
