Dayton, Ohio – (October 21, 2021) – The Dayton Flyers scored three times in the second half to pick up a 3-0 win over the Fordham Rams in Atlantic 10 women's soccer action on Thursday night at Baujan Field in Ohio.
Fordham kept the Atlantic 10's top offense off the scoreboard in the opening half, limiting the Flyers to jut two shots on goal and six shots overall.
In the second half, the Flyers eventually got that first marker in the 52
nd minute, as Diana Benigno dribble toward the right side of the arc and found the top right corner of the goal from 25 yards out for her second tally of the season.
Dayton then scored twice in just over a minute later in the second half, getting goals from Alicia Donley and Laney Huber. Donley's goal in the 74
th minute came off a cross from the left side of the box, as her shot hit Fordham goalkeeper
Maria O'Sullivan, but had enough momentum to carry it into the net. Then in the 75
th minute, Huber headed in a corner kick from Madison Wilson.
The Flyers split their goalkeeper duties as Maddie Crosbie got the win, making three saves in the second half, while O'Sullivan posted a career-high eight saves for the Rams.
Fordham will wrap up the regular season on Sunday, October 24
th, when the Rams host George Mason for a 1:00 PM contest at Jack Coffey Field.
