Bronx, N.Y. – (October 17, 2021) – The Fordham Rams celebrated Senior Day at Jack Coffey Field on Sunday, honoring eight student-athletes prior to taking on the Massachusetts Minutewomen in women's soccer action. The Minutewomen would spoil the day, getting goals from Karina Groff and Olivia Gouldsbury for a 2-1 decision over the Fordham Rams.
After a scoreless first half, UMass cracked the scoreboard in the 54
th minute. Chandler Pedolzky dribbled to the center of the offensive zone and passed the ball to the right for Karina Groff. Groff then slotted a shot to the left side of the net for the 1-0 edge for her fourth goal of the season.
The Minutewomen increased the lead to 2-0 in the 79
th minute, as Pedolzky set up Olivia Gouldsbury on the right side of the box. Gouldsbury then drove to the center and found the bottom left corner for her marker of the season.
The Rams answered back with a goal just over a minute later, converting on the second of back-to-back corner kicks.

Milan Bornstein in the center of the box for the deflection into the left side of the net for her fourth goal of the season.
Fordham then had a premium opportunity in the final minutes to tie the game, as the ball was loose in front with the UMass goalkeeper and a defender on the ground.
Jenna Devine has a couple of shot attempts but was unable to lift the ball over the keeper with Bella Mendoza making one final save before time ran out on the Rams.
In net, Mendoza had two saves in the second half in relief of Megan Olszewski, who made one save in the first half.
Maria O'Sullivan recorded one save for the Rams.
The Rams are back in action on Thursday, October 21
st, as they travel to Dayton for a 7:00 PM match.
